A Burrito bowl is healthy lunch option if prepared with proper ingredients as it is packed with protein, carb, fiber and veggies which will keep you full for longer period of time. All the ingredients can be separately prepared and stored for making ready to eat Burrito bowl. A burrito bowl is prepared with ingredients like rice, beans, chicken, steak, avocado, salads and other vegetables such has tomato, bell peppers, onion, etc. sometime burrito bowl is confused with taco salad but both are different, taco salad has lettuce at its foundation inside a fried tortilla and burrito bowl is prepared with rice at its base. Though it is called burrito bowl, it is technically not burrito because the main ingredients of burrito is tortilla.

Today we are going to learn an easy recipe for burrito bowl which can be prepared in less time and enjoyed on a lazy afternoon. Now without wasting any more time let’s prepare a burrito bowl.

Ingredients Used
Steak 1 kg.
Finely Chopped Garlic 1 Table Spoon
Soy Sauce 50 ml.
Olive Oil 4 50 ml.
Lime Juice 2 Table Spoon
Cooked Rice (White/Brown) 250 grams.
Chopped Lettuce (Romaine, Iceberg, any) 250 grams
Bell Pepper (Green, Yellow, Red) 500 grams
Salsa Salad 500 gram
Black Beans 250 grams
Corn 250 grams
Guacamole 250 gram
Sour Cream 100 grams
Shredded Cheddar Cheese 250 gram
Coriander Leaves Chopped ½ a bunch
Lemon 2 nos.
Ranch Dressing Dry 2 Table Spoon
Salt as per your taste
Black Pepper as per your taste
Chili Powder as per your taste
 
 
Method of Cooking

 

  1. Remove the fat from the steak if any and then slice it into thin strips.
  2. In a bowl combine all the seasoning, garlic, olive oil, lime juice and soy sauce with the steak and mix together.
  3. Transfer the mixture in a zip lock bag and keep it in the refrigerator for marination.
  4. Marinated meat always tastes better so at least marinate for 2 hour in case of beef or lamb.
  5. Chiffonade the lettuce and then chop to get small and thin pieces of lettuce.
  6. Thinly slice the bell peppers, chop the coriander, wedge the lemon, and boil the beans, corn and the rice.
  7. The guacamole, salsa and the sour cream can either be homemade or store bought just make sure they are fresh.
  8. After the marination is done, remove the steak from the refrigerator and pan fry it over medium flame.
  9. Cook until the meat is completely cooked.
  10. Now in bowl remove the steak on the base of the rice and add the beans, corn, guacamole, lettuce and the salsa salad.
  11. Adjust the seasoning by adding salt, pepper and lime juice.
  12. Add the Ranch dressing and the sour cream
  13. Top it with shredded cheese and garnish with chopped coriander and lemon wedges.
  14. Now our burrito bowl is ready to serve
  15. Enjoy with a glass of coke.
